Lighting and ceiling fan installation
Downlights, pendants and ceiling fans installed on a properly braced mount, checked for balance before we leave the ladder.
A ceiling fan on a mount that was only ever rated for a light fitting will work loose within a year, usually with a wobble you can feel through the floor before you hear it. We check the ceiling fixing point, upgrade the brace where needed, and balance the fan before we pack up. Downlight and pendant installs get the same attention to the circuit they are going on, not just the fitting itself.

02How it runs
5 steps, in this order
Typical visit: 60 to 150 min. You are told which step we are on, without having to ask.
- 01 Check the ceiling fixing point and the circuit it sits on
- 02 Brace the mount if it is not currently rated for a fan
- 03 Install and wire the fan or light fitting
- 04 Balance and run test the fan at every speed
- 05 Clean up and remove the old fitting

My ceiling fan wobbles. Can that be fixed without replacing it?
Often, yes. Most wobble comes from an unbalanced blade set or a fixing point that has worked loose, not a faulty motor. We will check both before we recommend a full replacement.
Can you fit a fan where there is currently only a light?
Usually, as long as the ceiling fixing point can be braced to take the extra weight and movement. We check this on site before quoting.
Do you install dimmable downlights?
Yes, matched to a compatible dimmer switch on the same circuit. Not every LED downlight plays nicely with every dimmer, so we match the two rather than guess.

The phone forwards to whoever is on call after hours. Anything involving exposed wiring, a burning smell or a tripped main is moved to the front of the queue; everything else gets a call back from 6:30am the next working day.
